Restarting our activities

Post COVID-19 lockdown, we are starting to operate from our institutes again.

Although the RBINS lab is undergoing construction work, the lab activities in RMCA have restarted, with ongoing mosquito and birdstrike identifications, as well as new requests related to food security and fraud.

During the lockdown, we have focussed on some outstanding publications; a preprint on the use of using aquatic environmental DNA to measuring biodiversity, and a publication on the detection of exotic mosquito species, both with BopCo collaboration, are out now, as well as a publication on Aedes spp. infestations in Kinshasa.

A manuscript on the topic of bushmeat, very relevant in the time of a zoonotic pandemic, is submitted and a manuscript on the topic of Invasive Alien Species is in the finishing stages.

We invite you to request a species identification as before.
