In the framework of two programs on the Belgian national TV discussing the presence of bushmeat in Brussels, i.e. ‘PANO’ (made by VRT) and ‘On n’est pas des pigeons’ (made by RTBF), the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences (RBINS) and BopCo were contacted to perform DNA-based identifications of the meat pieces the journalists purchased. We were also given the opportunity to present some of the preliminary results of our own bushmeat samples. The resulting documentaries can be watched on the respective websites while the BopCo bushmeat project is explained in more detail on the RBINS website.
